The Regional Council of South Savo
The Regional Council of South Savo is a public authority responsible for the general development of the region South Savo.
As a regional planning authority the Regional Council also manages physical planning within its territory.
The Regional Council of South Savo:
- provides a platform for working out the common will of the region
- acts as an agent for economic development
- promotes the general interest of the region at a national level in a number of ways
Guidelines for regional development are set out by the Regional Assembly in the Strategic Regional Plan, the the Regional Development Programme and the Regional Plan (physical planning). These development programmes serve the business life of the region and raise skills levels and developing at the rural areas.
